1953 The Anglican Bishop Richard Hall visited the HKAFA right after the academy inaugural exhibition at the Hong Kong St John Cathedral.
 
 
 

1962 Bishop Richard Hall was invited to the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Academy exhibition to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the HKAFA.
 
 
 
1974 Mr. D.C. Stewart, the director of the Vancouver School of Art, (now Emily Carr College of Art and Design, Canada,) came to visit the HKAFA and signed a student exchange agreement.
 
   
1974 Fifteen Alumnae held a joint exhibition in the City all, and performed impromptu portrait sketches for visitors, it was a stirring event to the Hong Koong female community.
 
   
1977 To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the HKAFA, an exhibition entitled enowned Hong Kong Contemporary Chinese Art and Calligraphy was opened by Professor Ma Mung of Hong Kong University at the HKAFA exhibition gallery.
 
   
1978 The Chinese University of Hong Kong commissioned Professor Chan Hoi-Ying to paint three portraits of its founder and president, Dr Li Choh-Ming. 1980
The famous Chinese artist and educator Mr Liu Hai-Shu visited the Academy and addressed the students. Here he is with Professor Chan Hoi-Ying.
 
 
 

1982 At the 30th anniversary exhibition, the Chairman of the Hong Kong Urban Council, Mr Hilton Chong-Leen, CBE, J.P. praised the HKAFA contribution to the community.
 
   
1985 Legislative Council member and chairman of the Hong Kong Professional Teacher Union, Mr Sezto Wah, and the president of the HK Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Mr Kwok Yee-Hing, opened the 33rd anniversary exhibition of the HKAFA.
 
   
1986 The famous Chinese sculptor Mr Liu Hai-Chue, the president of the Sichuan Academy of Arts Mr Ye Yuk-Shan, the president of the Beijing Central Institute of Arts Mr Koo Yuen, and the president of the Chinese Printing Artists Association Mr Li Hua, visited Professor Chan at the HKAFA.
 
   
1985 Professor Chan gave an address on fifty Years of Arts Education In Hong Kong at the Asia-Pacific Confederation for Art Education conference in Singapore. Pictured with him are the presidents of the Taiwan Academy of Arts and the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts.
 
   
1986 An article on the achievements of Professor Chan Hoi-Ying and the Academy appears in he World Arts Education.
 
   
1987 At the Asia-Pacific Confederation for Art Education conference in Japan, Professor Chan was invited to give the closing speech.
 
   
1987 The President and teaching staff of the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts visit the HKAFA.
 
   
1988 The Secretary-General of the Asia-Pacific Confederation for Art Education, Dr Donald Ruthenberg, together with the Director of Community Cultural Studies of Columbia University came to visit the HKAFA.
 
   
1990 The president of the International Society of Education through Art, Dr Al Hurwitz and a delegation from the American National Art Education Council visited the HKAFA. He praised the Academy passion, dedication, and enthusiasm for art education.
 
 
 
1992 To celebrate the fortieth anniversary of the Academy, the HKAFA Alumni Association and the Netherlands Consulate General jointly organized an exhibition "The Dutch Art Saint - Rembrandt and His Art" in the HKAFA Academy Exhibition Gallery. Netherlands Consul General Mr. Hendrik J. van Pesch presided over the opening ceremony and address.
 
   
1993 Professor Chan Hoi-ying accepted an invitation from the Taiwan Museum of Art to hold the first individual resprospective exhibition in Taiwan.
 
   
1994 Professor Chan was honored by the American Society of Portrait Artists as one of the top three portrait painters in the world. Here he is being congratulated by the judging committee.
 
   
1995 Professor Chan Hoi-Ying was invited to lecture on Western painting techniques throughout the United States, including at the University of Columbia, Boston University, University of Missouri (pictured), and the Art Institute of Chicago.
 
   
2002 The Leisure and Cultural Services Department invited Professor Chan Hoi-Ying to hold a retrospective exhibition at the Hong Kong Museum of Art, entitled on Unyielding Voyage in Art.
 
   
2002 Panel on Education, Legislative Council Mr. Yeung Yiu-chung; Deputy Consul General, U.S. Consulate General Mr. K. Farrett; Deputy Consul General and Head of Economic, Netherlands Consulate Mr. C Groeneveld; Chairman of Sino United Publishing (Holding) Ltd. Mr Lee Cho-jat; Honorary Adviser Hong Kong Museum of Art Prof. Lee Yun-woon officiated at the ribbon cutting ceremony for the Hong Kong Museum of Art's exhibition "An Unyielding Voyage in Art" ; featuring the works of Professor Chan Hoi-ying in retrospect.
 
   
2002 Professor Chan Hoi-Ying was invited by the Shandong University, China to address the International Conference on Aesthetics and Art Education.
