“In viewing the student's
work at the Academy, I truly believe
the quality of art education does not fully
rely on the size and the facilities of an institution.
It mainly depends on the teaching method, the
passion to the students and the enthusiastic
and spirited dedication in art education by
the faculty.”

“The Hong Kong Academy
of Fine Arts has nurtured thousands
of artists over the part 30 years, adding new
blood to the field of art. These are either
in the artistic field of painting, education,
design, broadcasting, fashion, textile, advertising,
printing, crafts as well as activities locally
or overseas, or contributing their artistic
knowledge in their work. In both ways, they
promote they development of arts!”

"It would be
an honour to have such a distinguished artist
and art professor exhibit in Art Asia. You
are fortunate to have such a treasured
artist as Professor Chan still living and teaching
in Hong Kong."

CHAN HOI YING epitomizes
the best of two art worlds. He has
become a bridge between Asian-Oriental and Occidental-Western
art. Over the past ten years, I have personally
watched as his efforts to educate young artists
took root flourished to bright flower. His personal
contributions to modern portraiture and realistic
interpretation of landscape painting methods
are well documented by requests for his works
in prestigious show and galleries.
Mr. Chan is considered
a master in education as his students find favor
and credit. The fact of his long and productive
career places him in high demand both in the
east and western hemispheres. He has demonstrated
his ability to live in the multi ?cultural mode
of our modern time. His proven techniques and
arts contribution shall long outlive his earthy
presence as a continuing memorial to his achievements
long after we who enjoy him today have passed
from the scene.
As a contemporary of
little talent, I stand in awe of his artistic
accomplished.
